What Dantive answers look like
Every example on this page is a real answer from Dantive, asked in October 2026. We shortened them and replaced company and product names with letters. The numbers are as Dantive gave them.
Which companies have the most active products containing imidacloprid?
| Company | Active products |
|---|---|
| Company A | 62 |
| Company B | 37 |
| Company C | 32 |
| Company D | 26 |
| Company E | 25 |
Active products only. The ingredient is matched under every name it is registered under, so trade names and salts are not missed.
Natural next question: “Compare the top two on all the ingredients they share.”
What was newly registered in the last 12 months?
967 genuinely new products, meaning products whose first label was accepted in the last twelve months.
In the same period EPA accepted 2,423 labels in total. The difference, about 1,450, are amendments to products that were already registered.
The answer then lists every new product with its registration number, company, signal word and acceptance date, newest first. The most recent ones were accepted in early October.
State-only registrations are counted separately, so they do not inflate the federal figure.
Natural next question: “Which of those are herbicides for turf, and who registered them?”
Compare these two companies on the active ingredients they share.
| Company A | Company B | |
|---|---|---|
| Active products | 645 | 411 |
| Different active ingredients | 106 | 122 |
| Restricted-use products | 52 | 22 |
They share 28 active ingredients, but the overlap is lopsided. Each company dominates a different half of it:
| Shared ingredient | Company A | Company B |
|---|---|---|
| Difenoconazole | 42 | 2 |
| Propiconazole | 33 | 1 |
| Mesotrione | 29 | 3 |
| Imidacloprid | 1 | 29 |
| Glyphosate, isopropylamine salt | 1 | 29 |
| Prothioconazole | 1 | 25 |
So the shared list is less a battleground than a division of labour. Company A is strong in fungicides and selected herbicides, Company B in insecticides and glyphosate salts. Trait proteins in corn and cotton are the one area where both are really active.
Where is our main competitor adding products at distributors we also supply?
You share 67 distributors. Since January 2023 your competitor added products at 13 of them where you added nothing. You were the only one adding at 5, and at 7 you both did.
| Distributor | Competitor added | Your closest product |
|---|---|---|
| Distributor 1, Oct 2026 | Imidacloprid turf fertilizer | Same chemistry, different uses |
| Distributor 2, Aug 2026 | Imidacloprid plus lambda-cyhalothrin granular | No real equivalent |
| Distributor 3, Oct 2025 | 2,4-D low-volatile ester | Direct equivalent |
The full list runs to 23 lines. Each one is an account, a product to compete with and a reason to call.
Equivalents compare ingredients, strength, formulation and use sites. Your team confirms them against the labels.
Which registrations changed owner in the last 90 days?
68 registrations moved between 12 pairs of companies. They fall into two groups.
| Move | Products | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Company F to Company G, Oct | 7 | A complete biofungicide line, moved in one day |
| Company H to Company I, Oct | 3 | Technical-grade actives |
| Within one group, Sep | 9 | Aquatic herbicides moved to a sister company |
Internal reorganisations change little for customers. Real changes of owner are where brands, distribution and technical support tend to change, so those are the ones to watch.
What PPE does the label for this herbicide require?
All mixers, loaders, applicators and other handlers must wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, or nitrile, neoprene or Viton of at least 14 mils).
- Mixers and loaders supporting aerial application also need coveralls and chemical-resistant footwear.
- For handgun spot treatment on certain berry crops, a NIOSH-approved particulate respirator is required.
- Restricted-entry interval: 12 hours. Early entry requires coveralls, gloves and shoes plus socks.

A note on accuracy
Counts and lists come from the registration records themselves, and answers point back to them. Dantive is still decision support. Check anything important against the official record before you rely on it, the way you would with any analyst's work.
